Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) and was Director of the national office at Mary Kay and Freddie
Wright as a pharmacist executive. Her home was San Diego, California. At the
age of 14, she began her professional life in modeling. She was a model in
Paris as well as Japan. She chose to become an actress after she graduated high
school. She was offered a part in Santa Barbara's soap-opera (1984) and she was
nominated for three daytime Emmys. She discovered her love for Dane Witherspoon
during the first season. They got married in the year 1986. In 1987, she was
the title role in The Princess Bride. After leaving Santa Barbara, she was
given the lead role in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. She was introduced to
Sean Penn in 1990 while she was appearing in State of Grace (1990). They had
daughters Dylan Frances with him and a son named Hopper Jack. Robin was back in
Hollywood with Tara which was one of her most significant roles of her career,
following breaks. She was absolutely gorgeous and brilliant. She was a star in
Toys (1992) the film that was an comedy that starred Robin Williams. It was an
extremely funny performance. Wright played the role of Jenny in 1994's
blockbuster success Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom Hanks. She was nominated for
the Golden Globe Award in recognition of her performance in the film as Jenny.
The film gave her a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) in which she
starred alongside Jack Nicholson. After she turned down 14 roles she was
offered the lead part in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). It was directed and
written by Pen Densham and featured Morgan Freeman, Stockard Channing, and
Morgan Freeman. She then starred in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997) along with
William Hurt.
