Thora Birch

Thora Birch, born March 11 1982 is an American actress. She made her film debut in Purple People Eater (1988), for which she won an Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years Old". Birch was a big star when she was when she was a child actor with films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated for an BAFTA nomination. After that, she starred in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for her performance in the title character in Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story. Birch has also starred in Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004) and Dark Corners (2006). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003. Birch has also appeared as Whisperer Mary or Gamma on season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-2020). Birch is Jack Birch's oldest son was born in Los Angeles. Birch is German-Jewishand has Scandinavian and French-Canadian descent. [6] The name of her mother, Thora, is derived from that of Norse god of thunder and lightning "Thor", which would have been her name, should she had been a young boy. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother, is her mother. Both of them were adult film actors, and were both in Deep Throat. They were reluctant to encourage Thora due to their previous experience in the entertainment business. But, the babysitter noticed Thora imitating commercials and convinced them to display Thora's photograph to agents. Birch was given her first major break at four when her babysitter took her to a successful audition for an Quaker Oats commercial.
