Tracy Spiridakos

Tracy Spiridakos, a Canadian actress. She was a part of the Teletoon children's comedy series Majority Rules as Becky Richards. From 2009 until 2010. She was then on the show as Charlotte "Charlie" Matheson on the NBC post-apocalyptic science fiction series Revolution between 2012 and 2014, for which she received a Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television. Annika Johnson was her role in the A&E television drama Bates Motel. Spiridakos is a regular on the NBC drama Chicago P.D. since 2017. As Detective Hailey Upton, Spiridakos is the main character. Spiridakos was brought up in Winnipeg, Manitoba by George Spiridakos and Anastasia Spiridakos, Greek-born restaurant owners. She has two brothers. The family moved to her father's hometown, Skala, Greece south of Sparta, a few years after she was born but returned to Canada in 1992. Spiridakos is deeply connected to her Greek heritage and is able to speak fluent Greek. Spiridakos started acting at the age of junior high school, and trained at the Actors Training Centre of Manitoba. In 2000, she graduated from Oak Park High School in Winnipeg. Spiridakos moved to Vancouver in 2007 to pursue acting, and within weeks landed her first television role, a small part on Supernatural. She was a television actress for another few years and was offered parts in Psych, The L Word, Hellcats and Bionic Woman. Spiridakos made an appearance in the TV film Goblin as well as the web-based series Mortal Kombat: Legacy. She also was a regular on Being Human, as Brynn McLean was the werewolf. In 2009, she got her first lead role in Majority Rules! Canada, where she played 15 year old Becky Richards. She made her movie debut in the year 2011 with Rise of the Planet of the Apes and also filmed the low-budget MichaelGreenspan-directed thriller, Kill for Me, featuring Donal Logue and Katie Cassidy. Spiridakos played Sammi in Rags the movie, which was a Nickelodeon original movie. The role of Charlotte Matheson as a survivalist living in a post-apocalyptic future civilisation, was her lead on the NBC TV show Revolution. In her pilot season, she was a candidate for the role. Spiridakos shot her pilot in Atlanta. The first season was shot in Wilmington, North Carolina. The actress was nominated for an Saturn Award for Best Actress on television for her performance during the pilot and was defeated by Anna Torv of Fringe's Anna. The second season was shot in Austin, Texas.
