Kari Matchett Biography

Kari Matchett, a Canadian actor, is best recognized for her performances in films such as 'Apartment Hunting "Men with Brooms" and 'The Tree of Life'. Born in Spalding, Saskatchewan and raised in the area, she later relocated to Alberta where she completed high school. She began to develop an interest in acting during her teens. To further enhance her training in acting, she went to the National Theatre School' in Montreal, and then the Moscow Theatre School'. Her first appearance on television came in 1996 as a support part in the Canadian show titled 'The Rez.' Also, she appeared on shows like Ready or Not' and Forever Knight' that year. In the late 90s, she made her film debut in the film titled Papertrail. Later she appeared in films such a "Men with Brooms" and 'Cypher. In series like "A Nero Wolfe Mystery", and "Blue Murder" she also performed supporting roles. Although she was acting in films throughout the 2000s and beyond, her appearances on screen were not as prominent as her TV appearances. In 1998 she played the lead role of 'Colleen blessed' in the Canadian drama series  Power Play. The show ran for two seasons and had 26 episodes. It received praise from critics and the public at large. Her role in the series was recognized with a 'Gemini Award. Jude Lyon Matchett was her first child. But she didn't disclose the identity of her son's dad. According to some sources her ex-boyfriend is her father. Kari Matchett met T.W. Peacocke started dating Kari Matchett around the middle of 1990s. They got married in October 1998. The marriage, however, was not long-lasting and the couple split in 2006.
