Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi (born September 1, 1970) was born in Chennai. Lakshmi lost her parents at the age of 2 years old. Her mother left India to avoid the stigma associated with divorce in India and emigrated to the United States. Lakshmi resided in Chennai with her maternal grandparents for two years before moving to the United States. She has a younger half-brother from her father's side as well as an older sister. Both her parents divorced later. Lakshmi is a woman who has a last name with the Hindu goddess of prosperity and wealth was born in New York and then in Los Angeles with her mother and stepfather. She visited her family in India several times a year, and then returned for a few months. Padma Lakshmi discovered acting was something she was interested in during 1999. She appeared in "Figlio of Sandokan" which was an Italian Pirate film. Then she was given the role of "Caraibi" (Pirates: Blood Brothers) that is a drama about 17th-century pirates. In 2001, she was the host of Italy's top-rated TV show, 'Domenica In. She played a funny part as a disco singer in a movie called 'Glitter. Padma is the mother of a daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell, who is married to Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was born February 20th, the 20th of February, 2010. Teddy Forstmann, who was the CEO and ex-chairman of IMG and is also her partner. Lakshmi has a son with American venture capitalist Adam Dell. Lakshmi eventually revealed the identity of her father to her daughter, though she kept it under wraps initially. She claimed that it's better to be around her daughter. "Anything from morning till the night. I don’t have much desire for anyone else than her.
