Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American performer and actress with Irish descent. The passionate, fiery roles she appeared in number of American films were well-loved by the green-eyed beauty with fiery hair and flaming eyes. Her natural beauty and glamour was well-loved and she was popularly known as the 'Queen of Technicolor' in Hollywood. Her portrayals onscreen were a reflection of her brave, strong spirit. She fought for respect and survival in the male-dominated culture. She was referred to as the "tough Irish girl" and was not willing to sacrifice her image or her respect for the roles she deserved on merit. She stood up for injustices and discrimination against female actors throughout her film career. She also gained numerous fans. Her autobiography, "Tis Herself", was released in 2004. It is an honest and candid story of her life and the difficulties she encountered in her climb to success. She was an adventurous person who was never afraid to perform herself at her own tricks. She was a part of more than 60 films, and became a cult international star. Following her departure from Parra the couple got married Charles F. Blair Jr. in 1968. Blair was a brigadier in the past and chief pilot and the first transatlantic pilot to be a pioneer. O'Hara eventually retired after few years of marriage. However, her happiness was not long-lasting since Blair died in a tragic plane crash in 1978. In the same year she was diagnosed with uterine carcinoma and needed immediate surgery. She was eventually cured. She had six heart attacks, short-term memory loss as well as diabetes type 2 in the subsequent years. On October 24, 2015 O'Hara peacefully expired in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at 95.
